The Canon 161 was a follow-on to Canon's first electronic calculator, the 130. The machines are quite similar, with the primary difference being the capacity, with the 130 handling 13 digits, and the 161 handling 16 digits. The 161 also added a more general-purpose memory register versus the accumulating memory mode of the 130.
