Sharp QT-8D Instruction Manual

This document is the general reference manual for the Sharp "Micro Compet" QT-8D Electronic Calculator .

The Sharp QT-8D was the easily portable (3.1 Pounds) electronic calculator to utilize MOS Large Scale Integration integrated circuits to cram all of the functionality of an 8-digit, floating decimal, four function calculator into four chips. Sharp made history by partnering with US integrated circuit manufacturer Rockwell, who took Sharp's specifications for the logic of the calculator and implemented it on the four large-scale integrated circuit devices. Sharp marketed the machine as using Sharp's "ELSI" (Extra-Large Scale Integration) technology to produce such a small, lightweight, and inexpensive electronic calculator with so much capability.
